The High And Low Road by Ryan Haines Big Band - Sheet Music

By Ryan Haines

Very entertaining duet feature for either Tenor Trombone and Bass Trombone or Tenor Sax and Bari Sax. Optional section parts included if the duet soloists aren't part of the ensemble (ie, guest artists). You can also mix and match parts to feature Tenor Trombone and Bari Sax or Tenor Sax and Bass Trombone! The piece begins and ends on an acapella duet with many humorous quote moments. The main body of the piece is up-tempo swing, with an improv solo for tenor trombone (or Tenor Sax) and a written out solo for bass bone (or bari), which takes a brief trip into a Latin Montuno feel. The final closing acapella duet finishes with a Bach Jesu quote that brings the band back in for a climactic ending in a slow, hard-swinging feel. This piece never fails to bring the house down! Note that the tenor bone high notes in the demo video are only optional. The piece works great without them.Instrumentation: 2 Alto Saxophones, 2 Tenor Saxophones, Baritone Saxophone, 4 Trumpets, 4 Trombones, Guitar, Piano, Bass, Drums
