For the early grade trumpeter, this version of the main theme from 'The Hammer' lies mostly within a one octave range from C-C. There is sufficient articulation to add extra challenges, also some dynamics to add some contrast.
The main tune is introduced after a two bar introduction. The trumpet has the tune throughout with the exception of a couple of bars to shine with a little flourish! This is a tune that is well known and loved by children and youngsters familiar with this catchy music and should be a short and cheerful hit for school concerts or to work on in a trumpet lesson. The piano accompaniment is solid enough to guide the trumpeter, but not demanding for the pianist - so that may appeal to teachers who also need to accompany at times. Have fun!
