A Fantastic Chart for Developing Ensembles
This Grade 3 arrangement of 'The Girl from Ipanema' by Roger Holmes is excellent for high school jazz ensembles. The engraving is clear and readable across all 42 pages, making it easy for students to follow. It offers great opportunities for teaching syncopation and ensemble balance, typical of the Bossa Nova genre. A strong choice for a school concert!

Enjoyable Play-Along for a Classic Tune!
I absolutely love playing 'The Girl from Ipanema' with this arrangement. Roger Holmes really captures that laid-back Latin groove, reminiscent of Astrud Gilberto and Stan Getz. As an adult learner, the Grade 3 difficulty is challenging but totally achievable for a weekend player. It's incredibly satisfying to play and makes me feel like I'm part of a real jazz ensemble!
