The "Tongues of Many Nations" section on page 9 is intended to portray something of the ecstatic experience which occured on the Day of Pentecost. The section begins with people speaking many languages and concludes with their speaking together, thus representing that they are all hearing the message of the Apostles intelligibly. As the poem suggests, it is the reverse of the experience of Babel.
