This brilliant concert march was written to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the founding of "Les Voltigeurs de Québec". The title of the work refers to the emblem of this Canadian regiment, in which both the cross and the crown aredepicted. This piece aims above all to express the joy of this special anniversary. The melancholy trio section brings to mind more turbulent times and the trials and tribulations that the regiment has experienced at various points of its history.

Deze sprankelende concertmars is geschreven naar aanleiding van het 150-jarig bestaan van ‘Les Voltigeurs de Québec’. De titel van het werk verwijst naar het wapenschild van dit Canadese regiment, waarop zowel het kruis als de kroonstaat afgebeeld. De muziek wil vooral de vreugde van het bijzondere jubileum oproepen. De melancholische triopassage verwijst daarbij naar de bewogen tijden en de beproevingen die het regiment in het verleden kende.

Dieser strahlende Konzertmarsch wurde anlässlich des 150-jährigen Bestehens von "Les Voltigeurs de Québec" geschrieben. Der Titel des Werkes verweist auf das Wappen dieses kanadischen Regiments, worauf sowohl das Kreuz als auch die Kroneabgebildet sind. Die Musik will vor allem die Freude über dieses besondere Jubiläum zum Ausdruck bringen. Der melancholische Trioteil erinnert an bewegte Zeiten und Prüfungen, die das Regiment in seiner Geschichte bestehen musste.

The Cross & the Crown (La croix et la couronne) est une brillante marche de concert qui a été composée pour marquer le 150e anniversaire des Voltigeurs de Québec. Son titre se rapporte l'embléme de ce régimentfranco-canadien, qui représente une croix de Malte surmontée d'une couronne. Quelque peu mélancolique, le trio de cette marche, rappelle des époques plus turbulentes et évoque les épreuves que le régiment surmonta lors de diverses périodes deson histoire. Cependant, cette oeuvre cherche, avant tout, exprimer la joie de cet anniversaire trés spécial.
