A convict relative from my past, was transported to Australia in 1828 for stealing some bedding.I wrote this song to express what must have been the emotions experienced by these poor sad souls who had no idea what lay ahead.The flute accompaniament adds to the feeling of sorrow and abandonment which then turns to hope for their future.
