The collection
This is somewhat difficult to review. If you notice, I gave this 4-stars not 5. From a value standpoint, the music is a great value at $24.95 per volume. This, however, is overshadowed because the books are bound so tight the pages will eventually fall out from bending.Longo was a great musician and did us a favor by cataloging this vast collection of sonatas. Sadly, this is marred by his assumptions and fixing of things in the romantic way. For those who are just learning Scarlatti, keep this in mind, as you learn the music, and use your own judgment when it comes to tempo and dynamics.
