This beautiful, classic R&B ballad, "The Closer I Get to You" was orginally recorded by Roberta Flack and Donny Hathaway was released in 1977. The melody alternates between 1st violin cello, and even the viola who starts it off. It is written in 2/2 time. The use of the bow will really make this work an outstanding presentation to the audiences. It is a timeless classic that is still played on the radio and social media. It is definitely a piece that could be played at weddings, receptions, banquets, pageants, talent shows, and so on. Mr. Robinson has pubished "Killing Me Softly" and "Where is the Love," which all three could be a tribute to Ms. Roberta Flack who made her transition earlier in 2025. A piano and percussion parts are included, but they are optional. A string orchestra score with piano is included so the director doesn't have to turn so many pages.
