This chart comes out of the gate swinging with a solid, punchy brass line. The distinctive harmonic structure of the first few choruses is definitely more than just I - IV – V, but the melody is very straight forward. After the Trumpets take a turn with the melody, the Saxes follow with a wonderfully harmonized version of the tune and then echo the opening brass figure. There is a great soft section that will demonstrate your ensemble’s dynamic range. If you need something a little "outside the box" this piece is worth a look.
