Randall Thompson's sacred music, e.g. hist Alleluia and The Best of Rooms, is in brother J.s. Bach's tradition of the text governing the music, yielding the indescribable richness in especially meaning, and sonority, needed for true worship. Soli Deo Gloria! PSBeing acapella and the challenges of maintaining true intonation this is really to be understood as advanced level stuff if it is to come off right, to say nothing of phrasing and articulation matters, background stuff to remain in the background after mastery that it not obscure the richness of meaning, as with Bach's sacred treasures.Soli Deo Gloria!
