The culmination of “Phase 1” of Marvel’s grand project, the “Cinematic Universe” finally saw the titular heroes of five previous movies, and indeed five different composers as well. Returning from the most recent entry; Captain America: The First Avenger, Alan Silvestri’s now iconic theme for The Avengers was based on an early demo pitch which he had thrown out. As director Joss Whedon said; “We all felt [it] was more S.H.I.E.L.D spy movie than Avengers heroic epic...but that none of us could shake. We temped it over the end credits for fun, and then had to ask him to establish it earlier, because it was so damn cool. That’s Alan on an off day”.
Created from the original manuscript, this release offers a rare opportunity to study film music in its authentic, original orchestration and arrangement. An opportunity not to be missed!
