The song’s theme of young love and a dream-like quality of the melodic lines is rendered among the various instruments. This arrangement is for advanced intermediate players. The piece begins briefly in C minor, but quickly reverts to C major to set a cheerful Neapolitan-like mood, ultimately modulating to Db major. A few unexpected meter changes, and counter melodies add musical interest throughout, with the baritone sax sounding a rueful melody line at one point. This piece would be ideal for pop concerts, or background music, and has the potential for audience participation by singing the lyric “That’s Amore” at appropriate places for those familiar with the song.
