This arrangement features two well-known carols 'Kings of Orient' (USA) and the 'Normandy Carol' from France.
When wise men came seeking for Jesus from far, With rich gifts to greet him and led by a star,
(The title, Journey of the Magi, comes from the famous poem by TS Eliot.)
Instrumentation: Violin 1, Violin 2, Viola, Cello & Double Bass plus optional parts for Flutes (Part 1 in C) Clarinets in Bb (Part 2 in Bb) Horn (Part 3 in F) and Percussion.
3) Children - Rejoicing Come Children, come quickly
This popular German carol has been given a fresh new orchestration.
Oh, come, little children, oh, come, one and all, To Bethlehem's stable, in Bethlehem's stall. And see with rejoicing this glorious sight, Our Father in heaven has sent us this night.
Instrumentation: Violins 1 & 2, Viola, Cello & Double Bass plus 2 Flutes ( or Oboe) 2 Clarinets, Trumpet in Bb, Horn in F (or Trombone)
Designed to be simple but effective for chamber orchestra these arrangements will work with as few as 8 players and the inclusion of the suite would enhance any carol concert or service.
