This sweet melody has been arranged for solo viola and piano. It is written in the original key of E flat Major and features shifting to and from 3rd and 4th positions and many moments for rubato tempo. The piano part is a true accompaniment and does not double the melody except in a few places for support. Theodore Akimenko was a Ukrainian composer, pianist, and musicologist in the late 1800s, with much of his music capturing the culture of his home country.
