Cello, Instrumental Duet - Level 2 - Digital Download
SKU: A0.1896529
Composed by Various. Arranged by Colin Kirkpatrick. This edition: pdf. Early Music, Historic, Renaissance. 43 pages. Colin Kirkpatrick Publications #1454980. Published by Colin Kirkpatrick Publications (A0.1896529).
Here is a delightful collection of ten favourite dance tunes from the courts of Europe of the early 17th century. It contains dances originally published in the famous collections compiled by Michael Praetorius, Pierre Phalèse and Tielman Susato. In this arrangement for two cellos, the second cello part can be played in first position throughout, but the first cello part is more demanding and, in some pieces, requires excursions into third or fourth position. Rhythmically, the music is relatively easy. There are separate parts for Cello 1 and Cello 2, as well as a score that shows an optional harmony part (in the form of simplified chords) that, if desired, could be used for guitar or keyboard. The score and cello parts come in a single PDF file. These charming dances would be an excellent addition to a cello recital and would also make excellent sight-reading material for cello class. In the cello parts, each dance appears on a single page in easy-to-read, large type. The audio sample contains complete performances of numbers 1, 2, 3, 5 and 10. The score and two parts are presented in a single 43-page PDF file.
