Tempus Fugit start met een tikkende klok waarbij kleine, repeterende motieven worden toegevoegd. De inleiding mondt uit in een optimistisch ‘Carpe Diem thema’: Pluk de dag want de tijd vliegt. Het allegro wat volgt is een weerspiegeling van onze hectische maatschappij en geeft een opgejaagd gevoel. Na een uitbarsting volgt een bezinnend deel waarna het Carpe Diem nog eenmaal klinkt. De compositie eindigt zoals het begon, met een tikkende klok die niet stopt: de tijd staat nooit stil.

Tempus Fugit begins with a ticking clock, to which gradually small, repetitive motifs are added. The introduction builds to an optimistic ‘Carpe Diem’ theme. “Seize the day”. The Allegro that follows gives a reflection of our hectic society, played in a rushed feeling. After an eruption a more reflective section follows, and then the Carpe Diem is heard once more. The composition ends as it begins, with the ticking clock that never stops. Time never stands still.

Tempus Fugit commence par un tic-tac dans lequel de petits motifs répétitifs sont ajoutés. L'introduction se termine sur un thème optimiste : " Carpe Diem " : parce que le temps passe vite. L'allégro qui suit est le reflet de notre société trépidante et donne un sentiment de chasse. Après une éruption, une partie de reflexion suit, après quoi le Carpe Diem retentit à nouveau. La composition se termine comme elle a commencé, avec une horloge qui ne s'arrête pas : le temps ne s'arrête jamais.

Das folgende Allegro ist ein Spiegelbild unserer hektischen Gesellschaft und vermittelt ein Gefühl der Jagd. Nach einem Ausbruch folgt ein reflektierender Teil, nachdem das Carpe Diem noch einmal ertönt. Die Komposition endet so, wie sie begonnen hat, mit einer tickenden Uhr, die nicht stoppt: Die Zeit steht nie still.
