    Truly about good technique

All of my students begin with this book. The exercises and accompanying songs are entirely focused on forming good hand position and ergonomic posture. The music pushes students to read notes, rather than just learning one keyboard position. This book provides reasonable challenge, while still being approachable. My only issue is with the very outdated illustrations. While they were once considered progressive and sweet, they now come off as racist. It provides yet another teachable moment.

The title exactly defines the method.

This book is the only one of its kind for acoustic/weighted keys piano technique. It is an original American Conservatory Standard Method. Those who know how to utilize it practice, play and teach technique precisely and authentically through finger independence and pin point expressivity. There is no substitute. This book is for all ages of beginners in piano technique practice.

    Technic Tales

Wonderful training material. I use it for my kids (5 and 8). It seems simple first but to follow the written instructions is not that easy, and very educational. The kids learn how to control the keys. The songs also sound great, so they love to play them.A MUST for beginners!

    Will use this soon

Like Keyboard Town, this book and its companion Technic Tales #2, are part of my early musical training (like when I was four!). I'm delighted these are still available, although I haven't used this book yet with my students. I wanted to acquire it for when I needed it.
