This is Set 1 of my teacher accompaniments for the John Thompson Modern Course for the Piano, Second Grade. It includes accompaniments for the first 5 pieces of the book: In the Alps (for piano), On Yonder Rock (one for piano, one for soprano recorder), Hop O' My Thumb (for piano), Menuet (for piano), 'Round the Village (for piano). In my studio, we usually play these pieces as 2 piano duets, but they work equally well as one piano, four hand duet: we enjoy my playing the right hand of the accompaniment up an octave.
