Tarantella for Wind Trio and Piano .(Flute, Clarinet, Bassoon, Piano) Woodwind Trio - Digital Sheet Music

A Piano accompaniment track is also available.

A Piano accompaniment track is also available.A Tarantella is a lively dance in 6/8 time featuring quick steps originating in Taranto Italy. The dance was originally a flirtation one where couples danced in a manner to entice courtship, however it is more known as a "dance of hysteria" for when a victim was bitten by a spider (tarantula), it was believed that dancing furiously with tambourines would cure them. This Tarantella like most, is energetic and full on most of the time. There is some respite in the middle where eighth note movement calms down but not for long as the main theme returns to a coda section to finish with a flourish! The tempo should be (but doesn't have to be!) between 122-128 dotted quarter note as indicated to be in line with this style. I have kept the instrumental parts as equal as possible, but I have included a minimal amount of phrasing as I have left this option to the performers. The whole score is on the youtube link for you to assess suitability. The instrumental parts are 4 pages each, and it is around 3 mins 30 in length. Great for a concert, recital, world event or just something different to add to the repertoire.Other versions are available.
