Written for a school confirmation service in Salisbury Cathedral 1989, this anthem features an original tune wedded to the well-known Francis Havergal text. The first stanza is in unison, followed by a four-part a cappella treatment of the second stanza. The third stanza features an expanded organ accompaniment with the altos and basses taking the melody, and the sopranos and tenors on the descant. Useful throughout the church year and for special services.
