Published by Ivan Brand (A0.1785569).This arrangement is a novel presentation of this well-known gospel hymn. When sung, the hymn's lyrics typically include just 3 verses. As the 3rd verse goes "....at the river I stand, guide my feet, hold my hand....", we envision our own final moments before we too "cross the river" into heaven. This arrangement take the lyrical message a step further by adding a 4th celebratory verse as though we have now arrived into heaven. We might imagine ourselves singing "Precious Lord, take my hand, walk me through the promise land....". This joyful section, in 4/4 time, reflects the joy of having crossed that river and entered the joy of heaven in the presence of our Lord and Savior. An optional tambourine can be used to simulate hand-clapping and dancing.
