Inspired by a humorous speech-to-text typo in a Facebook post, this is a close adaptation of Pachelbel's "Canon in D" spiced up with Spanish flavors. It begins and ends in the original way, but has a middle section that is rhythmically challenging and aurally stimulating. This interpretation works for virtually any context, but is especially advantageous in an educational context. The "dembow" rhythm is prominent throughout the piece, and can serve as an effective introduction for the classically trained musician to interpretation and improvisational approaches of existing music.
