With everything that's been happening recently I can't quite believe this myself, but I actually wrote a symphonic work in a week! It's called 'Symphony of Somerset' - although it's more of a symphonic suite than a symphony, but I'll stick with it! It's based on a selection of Somerset folk songs which have been 'worked on', shall we say.
The work was premiered by Exeter Symphony Orchestra in March 2023, and was also performed by Dorset County Orchestra later the same year.
