This piece is tells two parts of a four part story where a great battle of light and dark take place over the world. Eventually, the world is thrown into ruin by the dark, and the world needs three heroes of the light to save the people from the great darkness. These two movements end on a massive half-candence to convery two things, 1.) being the full work is yet to be finished and 2.) there is always more to happen in war. Movement 1 tells the story of the beginnings of the war and the conflict between the piano and the trombone (light and dark respectively) and everyhting that happens in their first battle. Movement 3 highlights the three heroes and their hjourney to destroy the dark once and for all, with the constant mood shifting of the piece conveying the ever-changing reality of a war.
