The Allegro con grazia from Symphony No. 6, (Tchaikovsky's final work before his untimely death) is a most lovely movement with the unusual (for its day) time signature of 5/4. Nevertheless, the music skips along delightfully, always with a 2+3 lilt to it
Jerald Juhnke has done a marvelous job arranging this movement for traditional brass quintet of 2 Trumpets in B-flat (C Trumpet parts are included as well), Horn, Trombone and Tuba. This work is about 7 minutes in length and appropriate for advanced performers.
