About Suzuki Method

The Suzuki Method is based on the principle that all children possess ability and that this ability can be developed and enhanced through a nurturing environment. All children learn to speak their own language with relative ease and if the same natural learning process is applied in teaching other skills, these can be acquired as successfully. Suzuki referred to the process as the Mother Tongue Method and to the whole system of pedagogy as Talent Education. The important elements of the Suzuki approach to instrumental teaching include the following:an early start (aged 3-4 is normal in most countries); the importance of listening to music; learning to play before learning to read; -the involvement of the parent; a nurturing and positive learning environment; a high standard of teaching by trained teachers; the importance of producing a good sound in a balanced and natural way; core repertoire, used by Suzuki students across the world; social interaction with other children. Suzuki students from all over the world can communicate through the language of music.

Cello and piano balance is as intended.
Addressing the negative review above: This cd has two sets of recordings on it. The first set is the cello and piano mixed normally and about equal volume. The second set of tracks on the cd has the cello track turned almost all the way down and the piano up so that students can practice their piece by playing along with the piano if they are without a pianist to play with. This is intentional and not a manufacturing error.

Suzuki Cello School 1&2 CDs
This recording is far below the expected recording quality, at times one cannot even hear the cello playing and the piano part, (which is supposed to accompany the cello part) drowns out any sound the cello is making. We are very disappointed with this purchase and do not believe it reflects the high standard of musical performance that Suzuki students are expected to listen to as an example for their own playing and performance. We are also owning the Violin School CD's for Volume 1 and 2 and these are very high quality and are definitely enhancing the students studies, which can in no way be said of this Cello Volume 1 and 2 recording!Unfortunately, there seems to be no contact detail on this recording to enable customers to make a complaint to the producers of this CD about the low quality that this product is sold in. I wonder if the Suzuki organisation has a quality control in place, otherwise this product would not have arrived on the market in such condition.
