With the rolling hills of the high plateau and the stunning Himalayas, Tibet is the highest region on earth with an average elevation of 4,900 meters. This lesser known Tibetan folk song praises the sun melting the snow on the mountains to provide the people with pure water. During the Chinese Cultural Revolution in the 1960-70's, lyrics portraying leader Mao Zedong as a sun were added to it. Duration 3:30.
