It pairs well with the Coventry Carol, whose lyrics combine lullaby syllables with a reference to King Herod’s slaughter of the innocents. In addition to being lullabies, I hear these two melodies as laments.
This pdf contains two versions: one for lever harp and one for pedal harp. In addition to pedal and lever change symbols, there are some slight differences in the arrangement so as to reduce lever changes as much as possible.
