Suites I-Ii-Iii Pour Violoncelle by Johann Sebastian Bach Chamber Music - Sheet Music

By Johann Sebastian Bach

For bassists, a better approach to the famous Suites! Playing these classics on the double bass injects problems and issues over and above those that a cellist would have. Part of Salles’ solution is his transcription of the Suites into the same key signature as Suite I, which lies more adequately within the normal bass range. Putting all of the Suites into the key of G makes them more playable, but hardly any easier! To further assist, Salles provides fingerings and bowings “...that would make shifts as inaudible as possible.”
