Nu Rusland zoveel dichterbij gekomen is, zijn wij nieuwsgierig naar Russische muziek. Bij voorkeur van de Russen zelf, zie 'Children's Suite' van Georgi Salnikov. Maar ook West Europese componisten laten zich inspireren door de indringende Russische Volksmuziek. Er zijn drie delen: Rondo, Romance en Trepak.

Since the Soviet Union no longer seems to be that far away from our Western World, we are eager to know Russian music better. Of course, we do prefer the music by Russian composers (such as Salnikov's Children's Symphony). Though many Westeuropean composers now get inspired by the penetrating Russian folk music. Terry Kenny's suite has got three parts: Rondo, Romance and Trepak.

Depuis que l'Union Soviétique semble se rapprocher de nous, nous aimerions en savoir davantage sur la musique russe. Bien sûr nous préférons celle des compositeurs russes comme Salnikov (voir 'Children's Suite'); mais voici que des compositeurs de l'Europe Occidentale cherchent également leur inspiration auprès de la musique folklorique russe. Cette suite de Terry Kenny comprend trois parties: Rondo, Romance et Trepak.

Seit die Sowjetunion nicht mehr so weit entfernt scheint möchten wir die russische Musik besser kennen lernen. Natürlich bevorzugen wir die Musik der russischen Komponisten wie 'Children's Symphony' von Salnikov, aber auch manche westeuropäische Komponisten holen heute Inspiration in der eindringlichen russischen Volksmusik.
