I have always admired the country, people, music, and culture of Japan. And although I have never been there myself, over the years I have had many friends from there or who have lived there for a while.
This collection of three short New Age-styled piano works is in honor of Japan. "Ritorubadi", meaning "Little Birdie" in Japanese, is a gentle lullaby. "Three Quarters of a Watercolor Lily" is a reflective, meditative work. And "Tonbo" (Dragonflies) is a fun piece written with moving fourths and fifths...typically non-traditional by Western music standards.
These pieces are written at an Intermediate level, and make attractive mood/ambient pieces for concerts or recitals at any time of the year.
