The origins of this folklore contain multiple layers where we can notice local colours, oriental influences and byzantine traces, often called "from the Balkans". Muntenia, like Dobrogea, it is the cultural core of Romania in which one can find a different kind of cultural diversity in the music tradition. All the dances of the suite are ritualic.
Cette suite en six mouvements nous fait découvrir la musique de la région située au sud de la Roumanie, voir la Munténie. Les origines du folklore de ce coin ont des traces roumaines, orientales et byzantines, souvent nommées comme ‘balkaniques’. La Munténie, comme celle de Dobrogea, c’est un carrefour culturel de mon pays dans lequel on trouve une autre sort de diversité en concernant la tradition musicale. Toutes les danses de cette suite sont rituelles.
