Commissioned by The New Hampshire Music Teachers' Association and the Music Teachers' National Association in 2004. The work is in three contrasting movements: I. OVERTURE; II. ROMANCE; and III. POLKA. While the work is basically tonal, it exhibits a "contemporary feel" through the use of a mix of tertial and quartal harmonies, the interjection of occasional measures in odd or mixed meters and - in the first and third movements - the use of strong and incisive rhythms. (2004).
