Still Relevant
This is an older book but it is still relevant and very useful. The sections are coherent and well thought out and the walk-through of the charts provide valuable insights to how a professional approaches recording. The only draw back is the lack of play along tracks (tracks without drums) in the book. This is due to the age of the publication, but does not hinder the student in attaining the overall goals presented in the book. If you are interested in chart reading in a swing or big band setting, purchase the book and play through it.
