This 6th String Symphony is in three movements, taking about 9 minutes to play. The 2nd Trio of the middle movement makes use of a Lutheran hymn tune, something Mendelssohn did in his larger symphonic works. The score and separate parts are provided (flute, oboe, Bb clarinet, F horn, and bassoon).
