Niggling motifs emerge from a dreamlike continuum of harmonic glissandos, sparking a succession of adventurous and unpredictable developments that are by turn tentative, unsettling, determined, energetic, emphatic, furious and lyrical, and characterized by highly varied, idiomatic string writing.
