Still Waters by Gary Gazlay Horn - Sheet Music

By Gary Gazlay

The composition Still Waters was written for French horn, and was inspired by Psalm 23:2 ESV - He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters.Still Waters is dedicated to Ward O. Fearn. I began studying with Mr. Fearn as a senior in high school, and was the reason I attended the University of South Florida where he was the French horn professor. Mr. Fearn was an amazing teacher, and I was blessed to have had the privilege of studying with him for two years. I still use and share to this day the musical concepts that he taught me. This composition as well as the other songs I have composed, is the result of the positive influences of all the individuals who have impacted my life.It is my hope that Still Waters will provide horn students with a song that they will enjoy learning to play, and provide other music educators with a teaching tool that can be used in helping to motivate and encourage their students.
