This arrangement of the popular 'Steal Away' spiritual differs from all others in that it includes - as something of a refrain - a version of the opening set for double choir in canon one beat apart. If rehearsed as a single choir setting before trying to perform this to sound as written, the arrangement becomes far easier than it looks on paper. A large SATB choir - with enough voices to enable the double-choir configuration required for some of the time to be effective - is needed for this arrangement, which also treats each verse slightly differently for added variety!
