"Start 'n' Stop" is a Bossa Nova piece for electronic keyboard, but is also suitable for other instruments - piano, guitar, melody line instruments, etc. The opening phrases are short to allow the backing rhythm to stop and then start again - hence the title of the piece. It can be tricky to operate the stops, fills, and breaks on a keyboard, so a pre-recorded rhythm track would be useful to allow the performer to concentrate on playing the chords and melody with both hands. The syncopated rhythms and the chords may require a little of practice time to master, but the overall character and mood of the piece should sound flowing and relaxed.
