Published by DML (A0.1096857).I wrote this carol in 2004 for the annual carol service which became known as A Star For Christmas. . I wanted to try and capture the essence of a birth where the mother knows her child faces death by execution from the minute of conception, I do not think you can remove the joy of it whatever the final outcome. It is not difficult to play or sing but the time signature is unusual. It is the guitar part in 7/8 while really the flute and vocals feel as if they are in 6/8 which can make it difficult, it needs to be felt not counted.
