Leonard Rosenman’s score was well-received by critics and audiences, earning him an Academy Award nomination, one of four Oscar nominations for Star Trek IV. Rosenman's memorable score is one of the many elements that makes “the one with the whales” one of the most popular films in the Star Trek canon.
