Andrew Gold (best known as the writer of the theme song for The Golden Girls TV show) wrote this song for his Halloween Howls: Fun & Scary Music album that he made because he found a lack of songs for the Halloween season. It was later included on Disney sing-along VHS tapes paired with a 1929 cartoon called The Skeleton Dance. In 2010, a YouTube upload of this video had millions of views. More recently, the song was part of a dance challenge on TikTok. This arrangement makes the piece more approachable for less experienced players. It includes optional note names, an easier key, and valve position numbers to assist in learning it.
