Die Komposition richtet ihren Blick auf die Polyphonien Guillaume Dufays. Beilaufiges kann motivisch werden, jedes Motiv beilaufig, jede Systematik ist vorubergehend und in jeder Auflosung steckt ein Keim des Fortganges. Immer wieder gibt es annahernd kanonische Gebilde, die jedoch wegen Uberlagerungen, Verschiebungen oder zeitlicher Verzerrungen niemals reine Wiederholungen entstehen lassen. So entwickelt sich formal ein imaginarer Dialog. Die Gedanken einander zuspielend, reagiert jedes der beiden Instrumente auf seine eigene Art, einmal konkret, ein anderes Mal assoziativ, und jeweils in seiner ihm eigenen Zeit.
