South Texas Rumba captures the gaiety and joy of the many Hispanic festivals around the United States and particularly in south Texas, where many people have a relationship to Hispanic cultures. There are two main melodies presented and manipulated. The first is agitated and driving, while the second is lilting and expressive. Characteristic rumba rhythmic patterns prevail throughout, which should be played generally with off-string bowings.
