These tunes are inter-mingled in a highly emotional and beautiful arrangement for early intermediate string trio (Violin 1, Violin 2, and Cello). All parts contain multiple solos. The spirituals are: Nobody Knows the Trouble I've Seen, Lord I Want to Be a Christian, Steal Away, Were You There?, Go Down, Moses, O Mary Don't You Weep, The Gospel Train, Twelve Gates to the City, and Swing Low Sweet Chariot. Especially appropriate for Black History Month, his file contains the score as well as separate parts (20 pages).

Horrible Title
In 2021, this title is distasteful and disrespectful. Africans were stolen and enslaved in the Americas. We are being asked to acknowledge this and change our language. This people we enslaved, were doctors, mothers and fathers, engineers, artists...by calling them Slaves we erase their humanity.

Great learning/teaching piece for a concert!
This would be a great piece for a concert in an educational setting. The melody moves around, and it requires performers to utilize various techniques & expression to bring it to life. Plus, it has a bunch of great, recognizable spirituals.
