Song of the Shadows
I've been waiting for the opportunity to perform this for several years. The choir is working very hard to make this a memorable performance for Good Friday. It is a wonderful work.

Song of the Shadows
We found this cantata to be moving and memorable. The words are as beautiful as the music and it is relatively easy to learn.

Tenebrae Service
2010 marks our tenth year of presenting this incredibly beautiful work. We are a small country church in Lorain County, Ohio, and, yet, we draw additional choir members from at least half a dozen other churches. In addition, we have an 18 piece orchestra that accompanies the choir. Folks come from all around to hear the Good Friday service. What a blessing the message in music/word is!

Hauntingly Beautiful
This cantata has been done at my church at least 3 times over the past 10 years, either on Maundy Thursday or Good Friday. The music is beautiful and mournful, appropriate for the Lenten season. There are opportunities for soloists to shine, as well as sections. Our choir processes out at the end, in darkness, then the altar is stripped and a black cloth draped over the cross. All exit in silence. It is very moving, and provides for a time of contemplation prior to the joy of the Easter resurrection.
