This is Maurice Hinson's edition of "one of the most tightly organized and classically oriented works to come from Ravel's pen." In the presentation of this work, in some cases notes are redistributed between the hands for greater ease of execution, and many performance suggestions are included. The 3 movements are: 1. Modere, in F-sharp minor, 2. Mouvement de Menuet, in D-flat major, and 3. Anime, in F-sharp minor.

This Sonatine is lovely, and previously unknown to me. It is not as difficult as a level 10, and worth playing even though I can't go as fast as would be expected. This edition is easy to read, and the added fingering is fairly helpful.

The fingering, hand distribution markings, and other editorial markings in this edition make learning much easier than with the other edition I had. And I found the detailed performance advice on the introductory pages to be invaluable. It is also so nice to have the bars numbered.
