Sonate Op. 84 Viola and Piano by Viktor Kalabis Piano Accompaniment - Sheet Music

By Viktor Kalabis

The Czech composer Viktor Kalabis composed numerous instrumental works - including five symphonies, several solo concerts and chamber music. His compositional techniques are close to Neoclassicism. In addition to echoes of the role models Stravinsky, Bartok and Martinu but shows a consistent, mainly bitonal organized individual style. The sonata for viola and piano, which has a lilting effect on the cantilenal characteristics of the stringed instrument, was written in 1997 and is one of the three sonatas that Kalabis composed for each piano and string instrument.
