Sonata #20 Op 144 Nikolai Kapustin

Like virtually everything else I've seen of Kapustin's music, he writes in a style I call jazzoid -- this Sonata is no exception. I don't use this term in a derisive way, however -- indeed, I find it remarkable that a man raised and living in Moskva, Russia all his life can capture a very sophisticated jazz feel so well. Be aware, though, that this is in the realm of top-flight jazz pianist wannabes only -- speaking for myself, as a pianist who plays mostly Classical but respects Jazz deeply, this is a major technical undertaking!
