Beautiful, profound
This is a beautiful piece of clarinet music that ought to be in every clarinetist's repertoire. It's modernist but melodic, challenging to learn but not beyond the reach of a dedicated amateur.(Though I'm told the piano part is quite difficult.) The four movements hang together well but offer interesting variety. Recommended.

Amazing
One of the great 20th century works. A must for anyone who plays the clarinet. The work can be taxing to inexperienced players in performance. Be sure to work the details out with a pianist to experience the power of this masterpiece.
